Description
The Modular Egress Training Simulator (METS™), an underwater escape training device, can be a rather challenging teaching aid. By gradually adapting to required incremental training levels, trainees will gain confidence in their abilities.
At Survival Systems, the Shallow Water Egress Trainer (SWET) is used as an intermediary training tool before undergoing training in the METS™. The SWET is a single-place emergency egress trainer that has a specially designed frame fitted with buoyancy pods that allow it to be easily handled and inverted by instructors.
The SWET can be used very effectively to conduct basic disorientation and Emergency Breathing Systems (EBS/HEEDS) familiarization procedures. It can be righted in less than two seconds without the trainer having to touch the trainee. This ensures optimum safety during training. The shape and weight distribution of the SWET is such that the instructor can easily invert and right the device with the student strapped in the device.
